Taylor Intermediate chose to donate the left over funds from "Hat Days" to Zach and his family. Tyler was able to go and accept the check on behalf of the family and he gave a great "acceptance" speech. I know he was nervous but I think we all know how he feels, I know I do! Thank you TI for your love and support for Zach!

I apologize for not keeping the blog updated. Here are the last posts from facebook.

Sleepover with Tyler :) Zach hadn't seen his brother in over a week and wouldn't let Tyler out of his site.

So glad Dad and Tyler was able to stay Tuesday. Zach was put to sleep twice today. Once for radiation and the 2nd time for an LP and chemo, peg shots, which are 3 shots into the thighs. He is such a trooper and doing great thru all of this:)

Thank you to Dr. Miller and Nurse Barbara who were absolutely amazing with Zach thru the radiation process.

 Tyler taking care of his brother and mouth care that has to be done 3 times a day. It's so awesome being home : )

Last day of radiation, yippee:) Vanessa tagged along this week, her first day she stayed in the waiting room but today she came into the room and was brave enough to stay and watch them access Zach port. Such a good sister:)

Poor Zach can't go to the lake for 3 years according to the doctor but the next best thing to being on the lake in the boat is Aunt Velda's drive way.

Zachs Homerun Race

Thank you to everyone who participated in Zach's Home Run and pancake breakfast. We are truly humbled by the love and support we have received and continue to receive. Zach started the race on his bike and rode for 3 miles before his chain came off which Dad was grateful : ) It was an AMAZING day!!!

We weren't going to shave Zachs head until it started getting patchy but when mom ran her fingers through his hair and clumps came out dad decided it was time. The only way he would sit still for the hair cut is if he was sitting on his bike so it is officially the "hair cutting" chair! He sure is handsome bald!

Bake Sale Success!

The bake sale was a huge success and we are so thankful to those of you who came and brought baked goods and bought baked good! Congratulations to Brandon Flake for winning the raffle for the Diamondback tickets!

Lets Play Ball!

Zachary threw the opening pitch for the Silver Creek Little League opening day. He did awesome. He knew exactly what to do, get out there throw the ball and get out! (It was that quick too) What a stud in his baseball uniform!

I am talking with Tommy boy this morning (tuesday) on 105.5 at 8 a.m. about Zach and his story. Tune in and wish me luck!

A special thank you to Alice Boone who painted face after face for over 8 hours at the bake sale on Saturday. If you are looking for a great birthday party idea for either boys or girls contact Alice. She is an amazing talented lady and we love her :-)

A couple little girls from Zachs school are putting on a car wash this saturday (the 5th) to help Zach and his family. It is so wonderful that these young children are so thoughtful, and I am so proud of them for doing what they can. So if you are driving by Wendy Halls office (in front of Shevells on main street) and see the car wash please stop by and support them in their efforts.

Diamond Back Ticket Raffle

If the yummy treats aren't enough to entice you to the bake sale tomorrow maybe the diamond back tickets will do it. Thanks to my wonderful father in law and Farnsworth homes we have 2 tickets (value of $270), valet parking (worth $10) and $20 food voucher. This is going to be a great raffle so if you want to buy tickets early let me know.

Bake Sale

Don't forget about the bake sale this Saturday at Taylor Little leagu fields. We will be there at 9 am til 3-4 pm. There will be yummy treats, wristbands, raffle drawing for D-Backs tickets and face painting. Atleast come and say "Hi" if you can.

Zach is Home (for a couple days)

So good to be home :) We were at the clinic for his chemo yesterday and they said his blood count was good enough to go home for a few days. We love being at Aunt Velda's house but there's nothing like home. Zachary quickly found the remote... control this morning along with Woody (a present left on the table with a note from Trevin Flake that he wanted Zachary to have his Woody so he would get better faster, so sweet and thank you Trevin : ) Thank you to everyone for all your love support and help with my family while I was gone. My sister Donna was correct when she posted we live in the best community in the world. I love this place. I will try to continue to post pictures but I'm not as good at this facebook thing as Aunt Velda. Love you all, CyrenaSee More

I just wanted to share with everyone a little bit of the love that is surrounding us in this wonderful town of ours! (I hope this is ok with the people that told me) The other day I was told by a friend that her daughter who had been saving her money for a long time to buy something special came up to her and told her that she wanted to give the money to Zach instead. Today as I was around town passing out flyers for the run I went into an office and found out that a little girl from Zachs school (who frequently played basketball with him) is trying to set up a car wash and give all proceeds to Zach. So if you see a car wash for Zach please please please stop by and get your car washed! I am sure there are many other stories out there that I haven't heard about yet!

May our Heavenly Father bless all of you for your love and support at this time in our lives! We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful community!

Run a "Homerun" for Zach! Breakfast too!

Ok all you runners or semi-runners or pancake eaters:). Mark your calendar for May 12 at 7 am. We are putting on a run and pancake breakfast for the Hansen family! Zach has three years of treatment a head of him:(. $20 for adults $10 for kids. Breakfast $5 per person. You can run 4 miles or 1. Start at the Little League Field. Please spread the word. Should be lots of fun.

Zachs 1st blood transfusion

Zach had his first blood transfusion on Monday. It took four hours to do it so they drugged him up so he would fall asleep.

He loves his mommy's tacos! These were 4 and 5 of 8! The Dr. said his appetite would increase and boy has it! He literally ate a taco in under one minute, its hilarious! You have to see his taco dance after he finishes a taco!! We hope Dad and the kids at home enjoy this, Mom and Zach sure miss them!

Treatment on 4/12/12

The ipad is not an effective distraction now, he knows what's going on now. Mom and Aunt Velda are still learning the best ways to hold him down. This morning was rough.
